What a year it’s been so far! 2025 had one of our most ambitious roadmaps to date, including a ton of new features and game modes.
We’ve managed to implement new game modes, such as the collector mode and the fan favorite Gauntlet mode, while also bringing brand new events, such as the Spotlight Events, Star and Epic hunts, or the linked special events.
It’s been a fantastic year for collabs with legends such as Avenged Sevenfold, Sonic the Hedgehog, Formula E, and with a brand new hololive collab going on right now!
And we also added a whole new layer of strategy and customization with the EVO feature.
These are just a few highlights, as each update has pretty much had a flagship feature attached to it, trying to fulfill the goal we set ourselves at the start of the year to provide our legends with more fun activities and stacked seasons.
And with each update, our community has been fantastic and as resourceful as ever, helping us squash bugs and providing us with super useful feedback to keep honing our features and improving the game.
With so many new features and events added into the game, we also seeing our own community adapting to new routines and helping us learn how they enjoy interacting most with the new game modes.
This has allowed us to take stock of all we’ve released so far and even take inspiration for our 2026 plans!
So, although we still want to deliver new and exciting events before the end of the year, we’re switching things up a bit, both to adapt to your feedback and tweak some of our plans to make sure we hit the nail right.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our next update will be our Holidays update, packed with exciting new events and a new track!
However, our big focus has been on fixes and bug squashing, shaping into an update that includes the largest list of fixes since our ALU launch days.
We’ll also be putting efforts into improving our EVO Feature further, as thanks to your feedback, we’re getting a better understanding of how you enjoy the feature and where it gets to shine the most.
A TON OF FIXES
I wasn’t exaggerating when I said this update includes one of our largest lists of updates.
The team has so far cleared 180 bugs, resolving issues big and small, and covered a lot of different areas of our game.
Sharing the full list would be quite unwieldly, featuring quite a few backend fixes, but here’s some highlights to give you an idea:
- Critical Issues:
- Switch 2 eshop purchasing issues and crashes when left idle.
- Resolved an issue where Ads were causing crashes on iOS.
- Issues with private lobby invites on Xbox.
- MP bot issues resolved.
- Fixed an issue where events were not appearing in menus.
- Major Issues:
- Resolved several issues to improve performance and stability.
- Several issues where translations weren’t properly applied.
- Several UI issues where wrong or outdated info was being displayed and some buttons not working as they should.
- Resolved several issues in the garage that could cause graphical glitches or the filter now working as intended.
- Fixed several UI issues in the EVO tuning menus.
- Fixed a respawn glitch in Norway track.
- Worked on several Special Event issues including UI bugs and displayed info.
- Fixed several UI issues on Multiplayer modes.
- Resolved several issues causing FPS drops, particularly on the Himalaya Track or when using Quick race mode.
- Fixed a few ads and offerwall related issues.
- Minor Issues:
- Several issues where translations weren’t properly displayed.
- Several UI issues related to the Ultimate Star Up cards and menus.
- Several overlapping icons issues across various menus and leaderboards.
- Several issues where debug text was displayed.
- Several issues related to UI buttons not working, disappearing or behaving unexpectedly.
- Polished a few audio issues.
It’s a long list and far from extensive, but as you can see, a lot of the focus has been on polishing our new features and improving game stability further.
It’s been a titanic effort from the team, and we hope this will provide noticeable improvements to the game’s overall polish and stability.
EVO POLISHING
The community sent us a ton of feedback, and we want to continue to work on the feature, to polish it further and improve its accessibility and availability throughout our other game modes.
We want to thank you all for sharing all your impressions and gameplay, as it really helped our team learn better how you all play and interact with the new parts.
For the rest of the year, we’ll continue with the EVO car release window and add EVO options to a new set of classic cars. This will give you a new set of cars to enjoy the feature and provide us with a wider range of options to help us test the impact of EVO upgrades further with our community.
The team is looking forward to all your feedback and we’ll be using it to drive our balancing conversations for the future.
We’ll also be improving how the mode is integrated, to allow such things as providing free try opportunities, allowing you to select which EVO pieces to use, and enable conditions that require EVO pieces to allow for even more challenges, alongside polishing a few UI bugs here and there.
We’re all aware this is a big feature that brings a ton of change into the game, so we want to take our time to make sure it offers something new and fun to enjoy.
HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS
The Holidays are almost upon us, and the team is already cooking up some treats.
Drive Syndicate will be making another appearance with our latest event, featuring the best of the best racing machines, and offering up a new challenge for our most dedicated racers.
We’ll also be rolling out a brand-new track, which we can’t wait to share with you (but no spoilers yet!). It features a new and exotic location, which I’m sure a lot of you will be excited about, so stay tuned for the grand reveal!
The Season of giving will also include a Holidays Spotlight and a few extra surprises, that we’ll reveal in our upcoming Patch Notes.
And to sweeten the deal, we’ll also be taking some time to share our plans for 2026, so get ready for a new 2026 Roadmap headed your way.
THE MISSING BITS
As we mentioned when we first released the 2025 Roadmap, even the best laid plans will have changes along the road. As we mentioned above, some of our attention has shifted to help improve our EVO feature and bug fixing to improve game stability.
The team has also started work on laying the foundation for 2026, which we’re excited to share with all of you, closer to the end of the year.
However, we had mentioned a few projects we were working on in our previous updates, which have been revisited, so here’s a quick update on their status:
- Roguelite Mode: The team is currently revisiting this concept. With our 2026 planning, we saw an opportunity to grow the feature further and create a more standout event compared to our original plans. We’ll be sharing more details in the upcoming 2026 roadmap.
- Tournament Mode: Also being revisited, as releasing this as a standalone feature felt very niche. We’re seeing how to integrate this better without having players wait around too much for other rounds to complete.
- Vanity Update: Still an important part of our 2026 plans, so don’t worry there’s more to come.
- Mastery System: Another feature that is still in the works and we’re just ensuring it’s properly adapted to the intricacies of Asphalt Legends.
- Multiplayer: With all the new game modes, and particularly the Gauntlet, we’ll be reviewing our MP structure, to make sure we’re not overtaxing our players and still offer a fun experience.
We know this is a lot of info, and we’re sure you have more questions of your own, so good news!
We’ll also be opening the floor to your questions, as we’re following up with our next DEV Q&A.
Please head over to our official Discord channel, as we’ve enabled a channel to post all your questions, and get ready as we get ready to shake things up a little.
We’ll be inviting Escopeta live upon our Discord stage to answer a selection of questions from the channel and maybe get a few live answers from the chat, so don’t miss out!
Hope this helped give you an idea of what to expect for the rest of the year and we look forward to seeing you at the Discord stage for our first ever LIVE DEV Q&A!
