A9 Bank Launch

We're happy to inform you that, having concluded the test, the A9 Bank will finally be available for all!

Some of our most avid Legends have probably noticed we’ve been testing a new feature, the A9 Bank, for the past year.

The A9 Bank allows players to earn extra tokens for each race they complete. Completing a certain number of races will unlock a Tier, allowing you to purchase Tokens at a discounted rate.

We will be aiming to release the new A9 Bank on the 6th of June.

For all of those who have been helping us test the feature so far, this will mean your current A9 Bank progress will reset, and you can expect a little gift from us as a thank you for helping us test it successfully.

Here’s a quick guide on what to expect from the new A9 Bank:

   - Completing a Race will earn you bonus Tokens for your A9 Bank.

   - Each Race completed will count towards completing your current A9 Bank Tier.

   - Each Tier requires 50 races to complete. (except for your first two introductory tiers)

   - Completing a Tier will allow you to purchase and claim your earned Tokens at great value.

   - Claiming a Tier will progress you to the next Tier.

   - There are 10+ Tiers to complete.

   - As you increase your Tier you will earn more tokens per race.

   - You have 7 days to claim your first free tier but don't worry if you miss it, it will reset and you can claim it again.

   - For all other tiers you will have 3 days to purchase it, or your progress in the Tier will reset, and you will de-tier 1 Tier.

   - You can only de-tier until Tier 3.

   - After Tier 10, you will unlock a repeatable tier, offering the best value.

New Challenger for Porsche Asphalt Series 2023 Finals

The Porsche Asphalt Series 2023 Finals will be held this Thursday, on the 27th of April, in the beautiful city of Barcelona.

If you’re planning to attend the live event, you’re still in time to sign up for an invite and get a chance to enjoy the action Live while also having a chance to take home one of the actual Recaro chairs whose design is based on real-life race car driver seats, and which we’ll be using in the finals!

We’d also like to take some time to update you on proceedings, as unfortunately one of our pro-racers, Amogh, will not be able to make it to the event due to complications in the Visa process. He will be replaced by the next iOS runner up, RPM_Fra, at our upcoming Live event.

A variant of the XJR-9, the XJR-9LM, was be developed specifically for the 24 Hours of Le Mans where the requirement for high straight line speeds on the Mulsanne Straight necessitated a low-drag aerodynamic package. In 1988, Jaguar won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with an entry of five XJR-9 cars. The winning car completed 394 laps and covered a distance of 3313 (5332.79km).

Have you ever wondered how the cars of Asphalt 9 are created?

In this interview, Damiano De Cataldo, lead vehicle artist, shows us the secrets behind the process that brought Automobili Lamborghini’s latest speed-machine to the game!

Could you introduce yourself, explain who you are, and what you do?

My name is Damiano, the Lead 3D Vehicle Artist for both projects being created by Gameloft Barcelona, Asphalt 9: Legends and Disney Speedstorm. We are a team of seven people, and we are responsible for the vehicles you can use in the game. As soon as they tell us to produce a car, we immediately take care of it, and we continue doing so until the end of the process when the car is incorporated into the game and appears in the garage.

How do you choose which cars are added into the game?

The game design team selects the cars that will be added to the game. They have a greater vision of what car would be a perfect fit for the game and the player’s needs. We do actively participate in suggesting new cars, as we are all passionate about them and are constantly updating ourselves about the car market and current news. We really want to be informed about anything that happens within the car world. I am really interested in anything that has wheels and an engine.

What happens after the decision to add to the game a car is taken?

Once the game designers tell us which car needs to be produced, we will then sync with the licensing team, who oversee dealing with the manufacturers. They will contact the car company and ask them for the car CAD file.

The CAD file is a 3D model used by the manufacturers for the real car production, to create molds and anything for the final car’s bodywork, interiors, seats…
We specifically use this CAD file because it is the most accurate way to recreate the car in the game, however it cannot be used “as is”. The 3D model is very complex and “unusable” for real time. We need to “translate” it into something that we can use, so that the real time engine of Asphalt 9 can digest it and render it out efficiently.

We use a technique called “retopology” that consists in placing 3D vertices on the CAD model to exactly copy its shapes and volumes. We do this to ensure the best quality for each car model.

How long does the process usually take?

Overall, the entire process for a car takes around 3 months. Usually, the first glance of a completed model is visible after 3 to 4 weeks. As we require the best quality possible. We started a validation process with the manufacturer. From their side, the manufacturer has to approve the model, as we want the 3D model to be as close to the real thing as possible, to offer our players a realistic car to play with and be satisfied with how it appears. After a round of feedback to improve quality, there are still some technical things to do before we can consider a car model to be ready. LODs, special effects, damages, behavior and much more are needed for the perfect functioning in the game.

What happens to the car when the 3D model is done?

Once the 3D model is done, we make sure it respects all technical requirements to work flawlessly in the game. We also add animations for active dynamic wings or foldable roofs in case the car has it. This is a very enjoyable process ????

Then we create the LOD (level of details) that consists of taking models with a higher polygon count (higher resolution) and then reduce them to create “simpler” versions of the same car. Think about real life: if an object is 100mt away, you won’t see as many details as having it 1mt away. We use these different models to recreate this effect and increase game performance (when the car is closed the higher resolution version is used and, as the car gets further away, a simpler model is used).

After this process, we create all the “extra” things a car needs: roof, wings and animations, if the model has them. We created the driver animation too, as all cars have different seats, shape, cockpit space, and different driving positions. 

Special FX like nitro pick up and glow effect are then added and tested in the game.

We also create all the colors, which the player can choose between and prep special models for car customization (carbon parts, rims, and car paint)

Was there anything special about working on the Lamborghini Revuelto?

Working on this car was something different for us. We knew the project was extremely secretive as we were working on the 3D model of the car before its release. Automobili Lamborghini trusted us in sending extremely delicate and sensitive information and we wanted to honor their trust. We treated every file they sent us with extreme care to be as safe and secure as possible. 

It was great working with Lamborghini while they were finalizing the car for the reveal, we received a lot of feedback, including them asking us to change some parts, colors to exactly match the real model. We truly felt like part of the Lamborghini team. Working together to present one of the finest supercars the world will ever see to the public.  

It was also fun to see all the renders that car enthusiasts created while speculating what the next Lamborghini would look like. We had a lot of fun casting our votes on the renders that resembled the real car the most. I must say that some of them were pretty accurate! 

Any advice for the people who, after reading this might be thinking about pursuing this as a career?

Vehicle artistry is a very technical job, and super niche and specific. You need to be passionate about cars, or it will soon be uninteresting for those who lack passion and drive. 

The most important thing is to take some modeling classes and ask a sector professional for mentorship as they can share and teach specific tips and tricks that were learned during many years of experience. Do not be afraid to ask, we do not bite. Create a good portfolio with a few but worthy works, because as we say it quality over quantity.

Future Flash, the first qualified iOS pro racer in the Porsche Asphalt Series 2023 claims: A good car for many tracks, the Torino Design Super Sport is an excellent choice for beginners and for advanced players who love fast cars, being 422 its top speed. The handling and drifting are very good in terms of stats and performance, though in some cases it loses its grip. It may lack a bit of acceleration but makes up for it with a nice nitro boost.

New Game Mode: Road Test with the Faraday Future FFZERO1

Test and tune a new car in the new Road Test event. Complete its challenges to unlock blueprints, import parts to upgrade it in the event, and see how this incredibly fast electric luxury Faraday Future FFZERO1 performs.

Road Test: 

The Road Test is a new repeatable event! It will happen frequently like the Starway! 

We are letting you borrow a Road Test car. However, this car will reset every time the event appears. You can collect real blueprints to unlock and upgrade your own Faraday Future FFZERO1 by progressing through the event and reaching event milestones. 

Select and complete a test goal to feel the car’s performance. Example of goals:  

•    Win the race and jump 6 times

•    Use of nitro time for 10s and Airtime for 8s 

•    Win the race and don't wreck 
 
Through the event you’ll be able to upgrade the car with test parts and blueprints and see the impact of performance. Make sure you don’t get caught during a test! 

Every stage of the event will have its own main location. 

You’ll have a shop linked to the event where you can find packs, blueprints, epic import parts and event currency. 

Don’t worry if you don’t finish the event, it will always come back in the future, so you can win more blueprints and keep upgrading through it.

Asphalt X Hololive – collab event

Join Sakura Miko and Himemori Luna in the Asphalt X Hololive collab event!

SPECIAL EVENT

For the next 15 days, you will be able to engage in bouts of driving in Asphalt’s very first itasha cars featuring vtubers Sakura Miko and Himemori Luna. The Asphalt x Hololive collaboration is available in the Special Event menu for all players who have completed the tutorial race.

The event is completely free to enter and offers 6 stages, each featuring different cars adorned with liveries featuring Miko and Luna, including new exclusive outfit designs.

The stages also feature some custom elements, such as voice clips of the girls. Join us in the Special Event to hear them!

All vehicles are provided, so anyone can enter. Participants will unlock many rewards, including Hololive emotes and enough blueprints to unlock the Porsche 911 GTS Coupé.

THE DECALS & THE CARS

The Porsche 911 GTS Coupé features two decals, each featuring one of Hololive’s vtubers in their classic outfits with attention-grabbing backgrounds.

Exclusive new outfits designed by Mochizuki-sensei will adorn the Porsche 918 Spyder, showcasing Elite Racing Miko and Race Queen Luna in competitive, fiery compositions.

Finally, the rare Aspark Owl is showing up as the flagship car of this event, with celebratory “collab” decal featuring both vtubers under the colours of Hololive.

These decals will be free to try in the Special collab event, and will be available for purchase in the store for all players only for a limited time, from February 20th to March 19th. Of course once purchased, you will be able to keep them after the event ends. 

Luna and Miko will also stream the event on their own channels, if you’d like to have a look. We’re confident they will be driving safely. Maybe.

New track! Welcome to Paris

Experience the streets of Paris as never before as you race along the Seine, past the Eiffel tower, and around other famous landmarks.

This new track, instead of being released through a dedicated Career Season, will be included right off the bat on Multiplayer, Special Events, and Time-Limited events, hoping that more players can race the street of Paris early on. Additionally, try to overcome more powerful opponents in Multiplayer before they know the track by heart!

Get ready for Road Test!

In this new update, we're introducing a new recurring event type! Test the new Faraday Future FFZERO1 in the inaugural Road Test event. During the event, you will be able to use and upgrade a loaned version of the car. Complete the event tasks to gain blueprints and unlock and star up your own personal version for your collection! 

This event will be recurrent and offer multiple chances to get the featured car, but try your best, as your progress within the event, will be reset for each edition (including any car upgrades you made to the loaned Road Test version)!
 

ASPHALT BOARD: Option to enable/disable ghosts

We're back with another new feature chosen by the Community through Asphalt Board! As many of you requested, we will now give you the option to hide ghosts from Grand Prix & The Clash races from your settings menu.

•    Based on your feedback, we added an option to skip the A9 Bank notification you get after every race. Tapping anywhere on the screen will make it go away.

•    Time-Limited Events will be now more exciting and challenging with some rewards being unlocked by having to complete multiple conditions!

Animated Decals are coming to the game!

We're happy to announce the launch of the very cool Animated Decals! These will bring life to your car in a spectacular fashion and will be available through the store. Also, you will be able to test them out in events. Early cars that will get an animated decal are the Ultima RS, Lotus Evija, Renault TreZor, and Bugatti Bolide cars.

•    The Clash changes: We reduced the total number of nodes on the map. Conditions have also been updated.
•    There will be now fewer tracks in Multiplayer (World Series) and will be rotated from the first season of the update to the second.

It's About Time: 50 Years of Porsche Design

The Porsche name stands for pure, powerful designs that explore new ideas and generate timeless creations. But this philosophy doesn't just apply to cars - as the founder of Porsche Design discovered back in 1972.

Porsche Design was founded by none other than Prof. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, designer of the pivotal Porsche 911. He started with the simple goal of creating “a watch for the car,” so it had to be sharp and sophisticated, but never flashy or ostentatious. With that in mind, he made it black, with dials resembling a speedometer and avoided dazzling aesthetics that could distract from its functionality. Thus, the Chronograph I timepiece was born. 

But one thing fascinated Ferdinand about designing this watch. He noticed that many of the lessons learned from designing a vehicle proved just as valuable while designing the watch; lessons like how to choose the right materials, how to put form behind function, and how to infuse the Porsche DNA into every detail. Since then, Porsche Design has expanded its offerings to a vast array of apparel, electronics, and other accessories, all of which have been elegantly crafted with these tenets in mind.

It’s About Time

Now Porsche Design is celebrating its 50-year legacy with a campaign titled, “It's About Time,” and they're kicking things off with an auction for two iconic creations: A restored Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa from 1972, and an original Chronograph I watch. Additionally, they're releasing just 750 of the Porsche 911 Edition 50 Years of Porsche Design, in honor of F.A. Porsche's groundbreaking original design. Few treasures could be more enticing to a Porsche fan, and you can learn more about them all on the Porsche Design homepage.

Asphalt 9: Legends & Asphalt 8: Airborne Contest

Even if you can't get your hands on such rare items, there are plenty of ways to join the celebration with Asphalt, and possibly win some authentic Porsche Design merchandise in the process. That's because Asphalt 8: Airborne and Asphalt 9: Legends are holding limited-time events throughout October, allowing players to experience the audacious power and graceful style of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and the Porsche 911 GT1 Evolution in-game. Each car will sport its own custom decal created just for this event, and the fastest racers (plus a few randomly-selected participants) will be given a variety of rewards, including physical prizes from the official Porsche Design shop.

TIPS AND ADVICE

The Special Event is locked behind the Legend Pass Car. Make sure you have the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 in your garage to keep completing all the stages.

As you keep progressing in the event, you will receive all the needed blueprints to unlock this stunning car.

If you’re looking for card packs, reach at least 145 conditions out of 350 to unlock them!

Have a look at the cars you’ll need to complete it:

-    Aston Martin One77: the Legendary Hunt of this car will be placed in Daily Events.

-    Nissan R390 GT1: it had a Grand Prix during the previous weeks.

-    Glickenhaus 004C: will come in a few days as a Grand Prix.

WILD CARDS ARE HERE!

We added a new type of reward to the game! This new item is going to be useful to star up your cars. Watch out for it!

What are Wild Cards?

Wild Cards are generic blueprints that can be exchanged for normal blueprints of a car of a certain class & number of stars. You must have the car unlocked to apply a Wild Card to it.

Depending on their class and number of stars, there will be a maximum number of Wild Cards of the same type that you can store.  Use them wisely to maximize their benefit
 

How to use them?

If you have a one-star car, you will be able to convert the one-star Wild Card (and the same class as the car) for that car.

Once your car is stared up to two stars, you can start using two-star Wild Cars to keep upgrading the car.

When you have enough wild cards to star up a car, it will be highlighted in green in the blueprints bar. Press the button to apply them!

You can also exchange Wild Cards for trade coins.

Where can you find them?

Find these precious Wild Cards in the Legend Pass, Free Pass, Multiplayer Bonus Pass, and the Multiplayer rewards. You will be able to purchase packs with Wild Cards too!.*

ASPHALT BOARD: Import part trading improvement

We heard you! The Asphalt Board survey system allows you to choose which new features you would like to work on, and this time you chose quality of life improvement for the Import part trade screen. You will now be able to select how many parts you want to sell more easily through the use of a slider.

-    Koenigsegg Agera RS has been added to The Clash Shop!

-    Multiplayer rewards are being updated for Gold league and above!

     -    The Lamborghini Aventador SV Coupé and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will now be available from Gold league and above.

     -    The Lamborghini Veneno and Vision 1789 cars have been added to the reward pool of the Platinum and Legend leagues.

-    During the last update, we tested a new way to maximize your Multiplayer experience: The Multiplayer Bonus Pass! At some point during this update, this new Pass will be released worldwide.

Bug Fixes:

-    Race times in the post-race screen were not being displayed correctly for Seasonal Events. We have now fixed this issue.

-    We fixed an issue that caused Multiplayer badges not to be seen in the Windows leaderboards.

-    An issue preventing players from connecting their devices through HDMI to Samsung TVs has been fixed.

-    An issue that caused player names to be incorrectly aligned in post-screen Multiplayer results was fixed.

-    The Bentley Continental GT3 will be returning to its original performance power.

-    McLaren 765LT's rear glass detachment has been fixed.

-    Last season's new Career missions' names were not displayed in Localized languages, this has been fixed.

-    Fixed some small issues affecting specific points of the Antarctica track.

-    Other minor bug fixes

Car improvements:

-    Ferrari Monza SP1's brake lights intensity has been improved.

-    Renault DeZir's brake lights intensity has been improved.

-    Bugatti EB110's rims color and rear wheels have been improved.

REWORK OF MULTIPLAYER WORLD SERIES

The Asphalt Board program allows us to gather your feedback on the topics that matter to you. We have been busy reading all your comments and we have listened to your suggestions to enhance your Multiplayer experience.

Based on this feedback, we are introducing two main changes to the Multiplayer World Series to improve your racing experience

The first change is a positive change to how rewards are allocated. The score distribution has been adjusted even if the pool of players is not full. This way, you will be able to receive the same rewards and keep climbing the ranking regardless of the matchmaking results. It will be easier for you to advance in the league.

The second change is a more accurate decay in the ELO system depending on your final rank at the end of the season. After a multiplayer season, your series score won’t be necessarily reset to the Bronze League.

Depending on the league you finished, your new Multiplayer score will range between 1,000 and 1,160. * 

If you have finished the season between the Gold and Legend leagues, you will start in Silver. However, the higher you finished in the previous season, the closer your starting Multiplayer score will be to the next league. This change will be reflected at the end of the upcoming Multiplayer Season.

In order to receive the rewards of the new Multiplayer Season, you’ll have to race at least once to win the precious rewards.

The Countach LPI 800-4: future is our legacy

Today, there are many vehicles one might call a “super sports car,” but few of them are as iconic as the Lamborghini Countach. And despite the line growing and evolving for over 50 years, there is still no super sports car quite as recognizable or impress

The inspiration behind the Countach to create something pure and futuristic, with a silhouette that is unmistakable for anything else. The team knew they were on the right track when, upon seeing it for the first time, an employee gasped, “Countach!” (A Piedmontese expression roughly equivalent to today’s “OMFG.”) The word perfectly encapsulated the feelings of jaw-dropping awe the car inspired, so it stuck as the name.

But the real challenge to Lamborghini is consistently finding new ways to excite and inspire drivers like never before. To that end, the team has pioneered new innovations with every model, all of which have culminated in what promises to be the future of super sports car design: The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4.

Its unique DNA mixes futuristic style with engineering genius. You can tell it’s a Countach at a glance thanks to its classic wedge shape, shark fin vents, and unmistakable scissor doors. But what isn’t obvious is the state-of-the-art hybrid technology inside, combining a powerful V12 6.5 liter engine with a 48 volt e-motor mounted directly on the gearbox. By utilizing a supercapacitor instead of a traditional battery cell, this Countach is capable of discharging massive bursts of energy (and speed) in a heartbeat. We’re talking 0 to 62 mph acceleration in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 221 mph!

As part of a limited production run, only 112 of these hybrid speed machines have been built, so driving one is currently a rare and elite privilege. Lucky for you, Asphalt 9 players can experience the future of super sports cars right now by participating in the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Challenge!

Q: May I know how many units of this car are present in the world?
A: The Countach is produced in a run of 112 units, the number denotes the ‘LP 112’ internal project name used during the original Lamborghini Countach’s development. The first units have been already delivered to customers. 

Q: Where did the motivation/inspiration to create the Countach LPI 800-4 come from?
A: There are works of art that always remain contemporary, and the shape of the Countach is one of them.” These are the words of Mitja Borkert, Head of Design of Lamborghini, who added, “Its design is made of perfect proportions, characterized by a very pure and essential style. Its distinguishing trait is given by a single longitudinal line that visually connects its front with its rear. From the stylistic viewpoint, it is a perfect inspiration, because even if we modify the rest, it takes form as an element of visual continuity between past and present. It is the summa of the DNA of all of Lamborghini’s design, the tradition of the stylistic language from the origins up until the present day.”

Q: Countach will have a convertible feature?
A: No, a roadster version it’s not expected. 

Q: Since you made the car inspired by the Lamborghini Countach LP400, will you make more different versions of this car in the future inspired by different versions of the old Countach?
A: The Countach is a unique experiment but now we have to look forward, So that's it, no more new Countach. We look forward. We always have new things coming up so we have to be concentrated on the future, not on the past.

Q: What does the Countach represent, moving forward as a company into the future?
A: The first Countach shaped the Lamborghini design DNA like no other car; the new Countach translates that unconventional and edgy character into the future. The Countach LPI 800-4 is a visionary car of the moment, just as its forerunner was,” says Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. “One of the most important automotive icons, the Countach not only embodies the design and engineering tenet of Lamborghini but represents our philosophy of reinventing boundaries, achieving the unexpected and extraordinary, and, most importantly, being the ‘stuff of dreams.

Q: Is the Countach a hybrid model? And soon, would you also make all your other emblematic models with this technology?
A: The Lamborghini V12 6.5 liter engine, outputting 780 cv, is combined with a 48-volt e-motor mounted directly on the gearbox providing a further 34 cv for immediate response and increased performance. The e-motor is powered by a supercapacitor providing three times more power compared to a lithium-ion battery of the same weight. In 2023 Lamborghini will launch its first hybrid series production car, and by the end of 2024 the entire range will be electrified.

DRIVE SYNDICATE UNDERCOVER OPS

For the first time in Asphalt 9: Legends, take control of a security car to chase down and intercept syndicate drivers before they can escape. Are you prepared to do what it takes?

Undercover Ops is a new format of the popular Drive Syndicate in Asphalt 9: Legends. It introduces you to brand-new gameplay that allows you to:

   -   Enter the intercept mode to gain a boost of speed allowing you to catch up to your targets.

   -   Execute a takedown at the right time to eliminate opposing cars ahead of you, or time it right to spin into a 90-degree block to eliminate an opponent approaching from behind.

We need you, Legends! Or should I say Undercover Security Officer? Slowly build your reputation in the syndicate, as a mole. Infiltrate and weaken the organization run by Blue Rabbit, Red Fox, and Green Lizard causing so many troubles!

As part of the Undercover Ops, you will race in the following game modes:

   -    Classic
   -    Time attack
   -    Hacker run
   -    Money run
   -    Obstacles

Do you have what it takes to infiltrate and take down the syndicate from the inside? Then prove it! create a gap in the Syndicate in the first mission by eliminating syndicate drivers. Remember you need to make them think you are one of them!
Complete the first chapter to unlock the Renault DeZir.

NEW GAMEPLAY: TAKEDOWN!

During the Security car races, you’ll have to target your objective and Take-them-down! Don’t let the Syndicate beat you and escape!
In this game mode, the Syndicate has disabled some mechanics.
The nitro bottles are taken from the track and the nitro bar is hidden. But don’t panic! Get close to your target, be behind or in front of them and trigger a takedown to eliminate them. Remember if you are too far away you can miss, or your opponent dodges you.

Knockdowns are modified in this new gameplay. The Syndicate Agents have increased their security measures and we can’t knock them out with a 360º. Have that in mind if you find them in your spotlight! 

INTERCEPT MODE

This new game mode will allow you to briefly boost the speed of your car up to the car’s max speed. This functionality cannot be used when the Takedown is executed. 
It will last for a short period of time and will place the maneuver into a cooldown while the mode is active. 

COOLDOWN

The cooldown applies both for Takedown and Intercept mode. This is controlled via the resource bar. You can gain this resource via:

   -     Overtime the resources bar will be refilled.
   -     Drifting will increase the refill rate
   -     Eliminating a car will refill the resource bar to 100%

BRAKING

Want to eliminate an opponent behind you? Brake by pressing drift while going straight to slow down and allow your opponent to catch up to you.

-   Luxury and performance are the name of the game with this double Special Event! All the Lamborghini currently present on Asphalt 9: Legends will be part of the Special Event! The Lamborghini SC18, Lamborghini SC20, Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, the Lamborghini Miura Concept, the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, and the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.

-   Don’t worry if you don’t have the key to the Lamborghini SC18, you will have a free try. Make sure the car is at tier 3 so you can progress in the Special Event stages.

Big names on YouTube are preparing for The Big Clash in Asphalt 9 – and YOU can join the action! AR12Gaming takes on BlackPanthaa in a team-based competition where the winners decide what prize every Asphalt player gets!

THE TEAMS

Leading the “Red Dragons” is AR12Gaming, a racing game streamer from Canada with a slick Van Dyke beard and fans who like to call him “Nickypoo.” Challenging them is the “Blue Tigers” led by BlackPanthaa, a U.K. streamer with a fantastic pompadour and an existential crisis over which cars he can find the space to keep.

But they won’t be jumping in blind; each team will have one of Asphalt’s top content creators as a Coach. Aguila Negra and RpM Alex will each train their designated team in the arts of drift, nitro, finding shortcuts, and more. They will also get down and dirty in the competition, racing for their team’s dominance.

Still, the Red Dragons and Blue Tigers are going to need more than two racers to make this “Big Clash” live up to the name. That’s where you come in…
 

TRYOUTS ARE OPEN

We’re looking for players like you to compete on these teams! Keep an eye out on Discord for a contest. It’s your ticket to tryout for either the Red Dragons or the Blue Tigers. Get picked, and you won’t only get to compete alongside these influencers, but there’ll be big prizes just for competing, with the winning team getting 3 million Credits, 3,000 Tokens, and 20 Blueprints for the Venom F5, the car with the highest top speed in the game!

3 ROUNDS, 1 WINNER

The Big Clash will be split up into three rounds, each with a slightly different challenge for the teams. The only constant is that the Red Dragons will drive the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, while the Blue Tigers will drive the Bentley Muliner Bacalar.

-    Round 1 is a Clash with 20 racers from each Team competing to defend and conquer as many streets as they can with their designated speedster. The team that wins this Clash wins the round. Do you want to be part of the teams?

-    Round 2 is open to everyone! Look forward to a special in-game Clash event where you can vote for your favorite team by racing in either the Bentley Muliner Bacalar (to vote for Blue Tigers) or the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (to vote for Red Dragons). The team that gets the most votes wins the round!

-    Round 3 is a 1-on-1 showdown between the two leaders. BlackPanthaa and AR12Gaming will show off their elite skills in a best of three sets of races! The first leader to win two races wins the round for their team.

As an added bit of excitement and fun, AR12Gaming and BlackPanthaa will also face off in an additional best of three races to see which YouTuber will walk away with the $10,000 Grand Prize!

The Clash

Asphalt 9's most awaited feature is out! Rally your Club and take the streets in The Clash. This new game mode pits two Clubs against each other in a frenzied competition for glory and rewards.

Thanks to our Beta testing clubs and everyone who has taken part in the first worldwide launch of The Clash we have gathered some great feedback and are making some changes for the next update (and will keep improving it in future updates so keep up the feedback). These are the main ones but find a full list of changes and bug fixes below.

- We have changed how you gain points in the Attack phase. Gaining extra points for a street in attack now works like in the Defense phase: you will need to match the extra point criteria to gain those points, the more you match the more points you can gain.  If you do not match the points that the defender did, they will retain those extra points for their club.
- We are adjusting the timings for each round of the Clash. We are extending the attack and defense phases to 4 days (up from 2) to give you more time to plan your strategy and attack your opponents.
- The players available for a new Clash will now be the ones that are inside your club at the time of matchmaking (when the Warm-Up phase ends). We're hoping this provides more clarity to Clubs as to which members will be able to participate in The Clash.
- Clash Season will have fewer rounds (3) during this update, so players can also focus on other game modes from time to time.
- We implemented a popular request: to be able to race against a defender's car in the Attack phase. Now during an attacking race, you will be racing against the car of the defender (these cars will not be able to interact with you and are present to help you see the defenders' racing skills).

Through the Asphalt Board we allow our most engaged players to choose new features for the game. In our latest vote, the community selected the Token spend-limit feature as the next one in our pipeline and it has now become a reality!

- During this season, we will start testing a new shop layout - it will be available only to some of you for now! If you see it in your game, please feel free to send us your feedback, as it will help us fine-tune the final version of the new shop.
- A new "Play for the Planet" themed decal will be added for the Lotus Evija
- Based on player feedback, we have added an option to reset your ghost on Looper Prix events by paying a Token fee.

- On a specific Nevada track, cars were floating in the grid race. This has been fixed.
- We fixed a bug that caused some cars to be shown as upgradeable after installing all import parts.
- Letters without any results have been greyed out in the Car Filter feature.
- Bolwell MK X Nagari 500 rear calipers' position has been adjusted.
- Vision 1789 changes and fixes: Emissive brake disks improved. Calipers' position improved. Font fix on trunk text. Fixed some small artifacts on the chassis.
- Zenvo TSR-S rear lights improved.
- Automobili Pininfarina Battista updated to new car version.
- Volkswagen W12 Coupé rear lights improved.
- Ferrari SF90 Stradale fixed rims' tinting.

The Clash list of changes

Improvements and changes:

- The Car filter feature has been added now to The Clash too
- The Street information screen has been improved in terms of clarity (both on Defense and Attack)
- The Clash timer has been added to the map and Street information screen, so you don’t need to go back to the main screen to see how much time there’s left in the Clash phase.
- You will be able to access now the Clash map while the results of the Attack phase are being calculated.
- Defense time is now shown in the post-race screen after the first race you do on a Street.
- The vacate button has been removed when the Street is occupied by your teammates and there’s no possible action.
- A message is sent to the Club chat when the Club has signed up for a new Clash
- The rival's name is not shown anymore on the post-race screen if you beat their time.
- The number of defense attempts left is now also shown on the Street information screen.
- We added a text letting you know that all Streets are defended on the map if that happens.
- More information has been added now to the post-race screen (like time or points gained) so you can go back directly to the map.
- We added icons next to neighborhoods on the map to indicate in which ones you have occupied Streets on Defense and conquered Main Streets on Attack
- Street node screen: The “Total Points” text string and the amount has been removed until you gain some points in that Street.
- If blueprints can be obtained through Clash rewards for a certain car, you will now see that information in the “Where can you get blueprints?” section of the car profile.
- Stopped visual animation of the Street nodes you can’t interact with during the Attack phase.

Bugs:

- Fixed an issue that caused players to see a different enemy score in the season leaderboard & clash score screen.
- Fixed an issue with the scoring system that produced incorrect scores when conquering a defended street.
- When you occupied a street with the same car as the player that vacated it, the previous stats were displayed instead of yours. This has been fixed.
- When an enemy occupied a defended street the color of the node changed before it was conquered. We fixed this issue.
- The game was not redirecting you outside of the Clash screens when the event finished. This has been fixed.
- There was a text saying “Street is not occupied” after occupying a Street on attack. This has been adjusted to show the Street is not defended, but occupied by the attacker.

THE CLASH TUTORIAL

The Clash is a new game mode for Asphalt 9: Legends that pits two Clubs against each other in a frenzied competition for glory and rewards.

WHAT IS THE CLASH?

The Clash is a new game mode for Asphalt 9: Legends that pits two Clubs against each other in a frenzied competition for glory and rewards.

Clashes take place on a special map called “The City of Legends”, which is divided into a Red and Blue Side. Each side contains multiple neighborhoods and streets.

The goal is to conquer as many of the opposing Club’s Streets as possible while protecting your own Streets from being conquered.

CLASH PHASES

Each Clash has different phases:

WARM-UP PERIOD 

It is the registration period, so the Founders or Promoted Members of each club can register their club for a Clash.

TIPS: 

Make sure your club is ready. After the registration, the new joiners won’t be able to participate in this Clash.

DEFENSE PHASE 

During this Phase, club members occupy the Streets of their side of the city, assign cars to them, and save their best race times to protect their streets.

TIPS:

To establish a good defense, check the number of streets assigned to you, check your garage, and use the club chat to coordinate with your club mates and decide:

• Who occupies each street.

• Which car models you and your club mates should assign to each street, considering the requirements and points value of each street.

Remember that you can perform Practice Races on the streets to check the Track.

Don’t forget to check Defense Status from time to time by tapping on the STATUS button. This screen summarizes the status of your Club’s performance during the Defense Phase.

Don’t leave streets empty, it will only make things easier for your opponents in the attack phase.

MAIN ACTIONS:

• OCCUPY STREETS
Occupy the number of streets assigned to you and protect them to make things difficult for your rivals in the Attack Phase.
Access an empty street and if you are interested in it, occupy it by tapping on OCCUPY button.

• ASSIGN CAR
Assign a car to each one of your streets to be able to perform Defense Races on them.

• PERFORM A DEFENSE RACE
Once you have assigned a car to a street, you will be able to perform a Defense Race on it.

What do you get by performing a Defense Race on a street?

• The Base Points of the street.

• The Extra points of the street (if any):
If the car assigned to a street was matching the requirements for the Extra Points of that street, you will get Extra Points too by performing a Defense Race.

• You will protect your street: 
If a member of the rival club accesses your street during the Attack Phase, he/she will have to race in your street and beat the race time you’ve saved during the Defense Phase on it, to conquer it.

   You have a limited number of free attempts to perform Defense Races in your streets, so use Practice Races until you feel confident to perform a Defense Race.

EXTRA ACTIONS:

• Practice Races can be useful for you to get used to the track of the street, or, before occupying a street, to decide if you are good for that track or not. Remember that you can perform Practice Races in all streets of your side of the city.

• Change the assigned car. If you’re not happy with your choice you can change it but remember that your club would lose the points on that street if you already performed a Defense race. So don’t forget to perform another Defense Race with the new car you assign, to get the points of the street again.

• Vacate a street. If you are not happy with a street you’ve already occupied, you can vacate it. Remember that your club will lose the points of that street in case you already have performed a Defense Race on it. Thus, don’t forget to coordinate with your clubmates so someone can replace you as the owner of the street you’ve vacated. Don’t forget that the new owner of the street will have to perform a Defense Race on it to get the points of the street for your club again.)

ATTACK PHASE 

During this Phase, your club must assault the side of the city of your opponents, and, by beating the race times that your rivals have saved on their streets. Try to conquer as many streets as you can. 

TIPS:

To conquer the rival streets, you, and your club mates, need to beat the race times that your rivals have established on their own streets.

Unlike what happened in the Defense Phase, in order to conquer Rival Streets, you cannot directly select one of them and race on it to conquer it.
You and your clubmates have to select a Main Street as an entry point and by following the neighborhood paths, move towards the end of the neighborhood. Main Streets cannot be vacated, once you select a main street will be yours until the end of the Attack Phase, so select your Main Streets carefully.
Don’t forget to check Attack Status from time to time, by tapping on STATUS button.

The cars you can use in the Attack Phase cannot be the same ones you have assigned to your streets in the Defense Phase.

MAIN ACTIONS:

• OCUPPY MAIN STREETS 

Occupy the number of main streets and use them as a starting point. You can select the main street you want as long as it’s not already occupied.

• PERFORM AN ATTACK RACE

Once you access a rival street, you’ll be able to perform an attacking race. If you beat the time, you will conquer it.

What do you get by conquering a rival street?

• The base points of the street

• Extra points of the street (if any)
If the car you have used to conquer the street was matching the requirements for the Extra Points of that street, you will get Extra Points too by conquering it. Note: this functionality will be available in the upcoming update.

• Bonus points: If you or your clubmates conquer a rival street on the 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd try, the Base Points of that street will be multiplied.

SCORE SYSTEM:

- The Score in a Clash depends on the club members:

• Their strategy.

• Their performance during the Defense Phase in their side of the city.

• Their performance during the Attack Phase in the rival side of the city.

The club with a higher score wins the Clash.

- Different ways to obtain points in a Clash

• Defended streets during the Defense phase.

⚬ The base points of the street

⚬ Extra points of the street (if any)

• Car diversity level. The cars assigned to the streets in the Defense phase will be considered to calculate your Car Diversity Level. Depending on your club Car Diversity Level, you will get several points at the end of the Defense Phase.

• The enemy’s streets conquered during the Attack phase.

⚬ The base points of the street

⚬ Extra points of the street (if any)

⚬ Bonus points If you or your clubmates conquer a rival street in the 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd try, the Base Points of that street will be multiplied.

• Defender victories if an Attacker trying to conquer a street fails to beat the Defender’s time, the Defender’s club will get a number of points by each victory of its defenders (only the 3 first Defenders Victories on each street).

REWARDS:

Rewards per Clash:

• Rewards for the winning club of the Clash.

• Consolation rewards for the losing club.

The rewards per clash your club can aspire to do not only depend on losing or winning a clash. At the beginning of each Clash Season, your club will be included in a bracket depending on your Club Garage Value. Increase your Club Garage Value to be able to reach higher brackets and therefore better rewards (for winning/losing).

Rewards per Clash Season:
A Clash Season is made of a sequence of several Club Clashes.

You and your clubmates will get rewards at the end of each Clash Season.
In this case, these rewards are based on a leaderboard:

• The position that clubs get on this leaderboard is based on the number of clash points they have at the end of a season.

• Clubs get clash points in the different Clashes of the Season in which they have participated.

• This leaderboard considers all clubs of all garage value brackets. 
So, all clubs are competing on this leaderboard.

Keep vanquishing your rivals and your Club can climb to higher brackets each season, allowing you to compete for some of the most coveted rewards in the game!

The Clash is the ideal mode for enjoying Asphalt 9: Legends with your Club, racing together towards a common goal, and forging closer bonds along the way!

TIPS AND ADVICE

  - Starway: A brand new event to star up high-class classic cars you might have missed.  This event will allow you to get the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder up to 4 stars. Don't worry if you can't get there right away, as these events will come back throughout the year so you will have time to prepare for the next level.

  - Looper Prix: A new way of enjoying Grand Prix events where you will be able to gain additional nitro if you are able to catch your own ghost! Beat your ghost to create an even faster one in order to achieve better and better times as you beat your own ghosts. Are you having trouble catching your ghost? Use its slipstream to catch it!

  - New Career season

  - Vencer Sarthe's rank has been increased (the stats are the same at stock and at max) and it will not affect the performance of the car. The intention is for the garage position to indicate better the true power of this car.

  - Based on your early feedback, we added the option to sort cars in ascending or descending order throughout our Car filter feature! We also made some other small fixes to the feature.

  - New Emojis have been added to the game!

Bug Fixes

  - There were some players unable to gain player reputation or complete Club milestones in the past update. This issue has been fixed.

  - We fixed an issue that prevented the game to return to the previously used car used in Credit Heist events when coming back into the garage after a race.

  - The issue affecting some players' ability to play on the Multiplayer 2 series has been fixed.

  -  During the last update, there were some car windows showing white reflections. This issue has now been fixed.

  - Races with a given time to beat were causing issues in the end screen when placed on Special Events. This bug has been fixed for this update.

  - If you tap on the '+' button shown in the garage when you don't have any blueprints for a certain car, you should be redirected directly to an information screen showing you where to get blueprints. There was an issue preventing this from working and it has now been fixed.

  - Some of you provided feedback about certain Buenos Aires ramps being too low. We have adjusted them to provide a better gameplay experience.

TIPS AND ADVICE 

We’re grateful to have you all on board for the British Tour! Over the next 21 days you’ll be able to race in the Ultima RS Special Event with every car available in previous stages, so don’t miss out! 

Start with the Bentley Continental GT3. You’ll be able to drive it for free, but don’t forget to upgrade it for maximum performance! 

Keep progressing through the special event by using cars from previous stages. You’ll need the McLaren GT, McLaren Senna GTR, and Jaguar XJ220S TWR at three Stars to unlock the Ultima RS!

Don’t forget the Car Hunt! The Aston Martin V12 Speedster and the upcoming McLaren P1 will help you unlock the Ultima RS! 

The key to the Ultima RS will only be yours after completing all 400 missions.  

Throughout the event, you’ll race in various modes, including Classic, Time Attack, Hunted, and Slipstream. Be sure to let us know which is your favorite!

BRITISH TOUR – NEW SEASON STRUCTURE

Welcome to the British Tour Season! To shake things up, we are bringing some big changes to the structure of Special Events with Multi-event approach. Follow us on a tour of the new season structure!

STRUCTURE

Race through the world in this inter-connected Multi-event that will take you through 3 Stages. In each Stage you will be able to unlock one new car, that you will need to progress in the succeeding Stage.

Each Stage consist of 4 main events:

   •   Star Hunt: works like a Car Hunt but with new and better card packs. Here you get your car to 1 star.
   •   Grand Prix: The Grand Prix you all know and love but with a small twist - in the McLaren GT & McLaren Senna GTR events you will be competing for blueprints only, while the Jaguar XJ220S TWR will require a key. 
   •   Passport Event: Race with the cars of the previous stops and beat the times! Are you looking for extra blueprints, tokens, and credits? This is your place to be. Players that have the event cars already unlocked can win additional blueprints!
   •   Epic Hunt: here you can get those shiny important parts for all the event cars! To play in the event, you need to have its car unlocked.
On top of that you do not want to miss the Weekend Rampage Events to unlock the brand-new Lotus Emira, nor the Car Hunts of the Bentley Continental GT, Aston Martin V12 Speedster and McLaren P1. All those will be useful in the final Stage of the British Tour Event – the Ultima RS Special Event, but more about it in the upcoming article! 

Please keep in mind that all 4 British Tour cars and some Car Hunt cars from the season will be necessary to win the Ultima RS, so it is essential you start playing the British Tour Event from the very first stage. However, as always, we will have store offers waiting for those who join the event late.
