As promised, we’re finally ready to unveil our plans for 2026! 

It’s been a crazy challenging 2025, and boy did the Asphalt Team deliver. Yes, a few ideas stayed on the drawing board, but we still managed to deliver a huge year filled with feature releases and special collabs. 

But we’re not here to look back on 2025, are we? It’s time to take a step forward and have a look at what the team is cooking for 2026! 

THE 2026 PLAN 

The plan for 2026 is much more straight-forward and structured compared to last year’s and brings a mix of new features and quality of life changes to the table. 

And, as usual, I need to start with the usual disclaimer: 

THIS IS JUST THE PLAN 

Even the best laid plans often go awry, so please take it all with a pinch of salt. The team could run into unforeseen issues or simply change their minds thanks to new findings or feedback they hadn’t considered, so do not take any of our plans as written in stone, but more as a roadmap of intentions for the upcoming year. 

Ok, now that’s out of the way, let’s dive deeper into the details! 

FULL YEAR PROJECTS 

We have a few projects that will be ongoing throughout the entire year and not just tied to a specific update. 

DRIVE SYNDICATE SIDE STORIES 

We want to continue to grow the Drive Syndicate saga further, so we’re bringing new Drive Syndicate themed events throughout the year! Introducing: Drive Syndicate Side Stories. 

This will give us the chance to continue the story further, instead of offering just 2 chapters each year. The Drive Syndicate Side Story events will not be as demanding as our main Drive Syndicate events, which will continue to come twice a year, and will also give us a chance to bring back some of your favorite DS rides from the past. 

MORE SPECIAL COLLABS 

2025 featured quite a few cool collabs last year, and we want to make sure we keep them coming! 

The plan is to both bring new and exciting collabs to Asphalt, while also inviting back some familiar faces to the track. 

Unfortunately, we’re going to have to keep our cards close to our chest with this one, as we don’t want to spoil any surprises! 

ESPORTS 

And last but not least, we’ll continue to work throughout the year to bring you a packed calendar of competitive events with live on-stage final events! Stay tuned! 

UPDATE DETAILS 

Time to dig into the details of each update! 

FEBRUARY 

SHOP REWORK 

For February we plan to release an in-game shop rework. 

This will feature a complete revamp to our current Shop UI. 

The revamp will add a metric-ton of structure, offering a deeper categorization of available offers and deals, to finally put a stop to endless scrolling within a single menu. 

It’s a big and exciting change and we look forward to hearing your thoughts on it once we make it live this February. 

APRIL 

COMMUNITY MILESTONES 

In April we’ll be having fun with a new event based on Community Milestones. 

The entire community will finally have the chance to work together towards unlocking community rewards for the entire community! 

We’re still in the process of sharing ideas, and the team is committed to finally bringing Community Milestones into the game. 

We also want to make things a bit more involved this time, instead of offering a single goal. So, expect some extra challenges thrown your way compared to our previous editions. 

Expect our maiden event this April, and don’t be surprised if it pops up again this year. 

MAY 

MULTIPLAYER REVAMP 

The team has learned a lot from both the changes made last year to multiplayer, and all the feedback received from our players. 

Although we’ve slotted this as a “May” update, this could be also considered a “full year project”, as there will still be balancing efforts made throughout. May however is our soft deadline to make sure our largest changes are in place. 

The main goal behind our revamp is to ensure that multiplayer still offers a competitive challenge for those who seek it, while also offering a rewarding experience without having to sacrifice enjoying other events. 

So, with that in mind, the team will be taking a full look at our current system, from milestones, to divisions, and even league reset timings. 

JULY 

PATH TO LEGENDS 

The path to greatness is always the hardest one... but we can probably help you out in the Path to Legends. 

We’re constantly looking for new ways to help introduce newer players into the game, as catching up to the current meta from scratch can be quite the challenge. 

With Path to Legends, we hope to offer a quick catch-up path for our legends-in-the-making, by offering them a clear set of goals that will help them get into the groove of things and offer some rewards to help them get into the thick of things faster. 

REFERRAL PROGRAM 

Help us spread the word! Alongside the Path of Legends, we want to make it even easier for your friends to hop on to the game for a few races and check us out. 

Through the Referral Program, your new friends will be able to get some juicy and helpful rewards to help them out on their first races, just by completing a few simple goals. 

And if you want to activate recruiter mode, we’ll also be offering you rewards for each of your friends who is able to complete their list of goals. 

NEW TRACK 

Summer wouldn’t be the same without a brand new and exciting location to explore. 

Yes, expect a new track. 

No, I won’t be leaking the location yet, sorry! 

OCTOBER 

NEW GAME MODE 

The Asphalt Team has already started cooking up a new game mode for next year. 

We’re close to finalizing the concept, but a lot of things can still change, so we’re not ready to share just yet. 

Hopefully we can provide you with more updates along the way!

WELCOME BACK RETURNING LEGENDS 

As you’ve seen, we have a couple of projects to help out new players, and we haven’t forgotten about our past legends! 

For those of you who helped us forge Asphalt in the past, but who are currently taking a break, we also want to offer you a welcome back bonus to invite you back into the game and help you check out all the new stuff you missed. 

DECEMBER 

MASTERY SYSTEM 

Returning from last year’s Roadmap, the Mastery system aims to reward the collectors out there. The team will be trying to make time to bring this for the end of the year, but no promises on this one. It’s a big task and it could slip to 2027. And although we have heard many of you mention the Mastery system of A9’s China edition, the team won’t be bringing a replica of it, so although it might have the same core line of motivations behind it, Asphalt Legends’ Mastery system will be different. Just wanted to keep expectations in check. 

At its core, the Mastery system will reward our most dedicated car collectors with permanent bonuses to their account and garage, based on how many car collections you’ve managed to complete.

NEW TRACK 

And of course we couldn’t end the year without a brand new track for you to race on, and again, you’ll have to stay tuned for the location reveal!
